According to available research, vestibular rehabilitation is recommended for acute vestibular issues such as Labyrinthitis. Waiting for natural recovery can lead to secondary complications like visual vertigo, motion hypersensitivity and PPPD.

We usually see patients within a week of initial contact with us.

The initial appointment lasts for an hour. The follow-up appointment lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.

Dizziness can cause neck pain, and neck pain could cause dizziness (Cervicogenic dizziness). In Cervicogenic dizziness, treatment of neck pain will address dizziness as well. However, if it's vestibular dizziness, vestibular rehabilitation would be required.

Although vestibular medication is helpful in easing acute symptoms, long-term use can cause unnecessary side effects and interfere with natural recovery. Please discuss with your GP before stopping the medication.

Although MRI and CT scans are helpful to rule out sinister causes, the most common causes of dizziness cannot be diagnosed with these scans. Vestibular Physiotherapy can be useful in diagnosing and treating vestibular conditions.

It is advisable to have someone drive you back as you might be advised by your therapist not to drive for a few hours after certain treatments such as the Epley manoeuvre.

It is not unusual to have dizziness, vertigo and unsteadiness following a stroke. Vestibular rehabilitation can help reduce dizziness and improve balance.

Balance issues are very common in the elderly population. The causes are often multifactorial. Multifactorial assessment and treatment including vestibular rehabilitation may be beneficial.

Dizziness could be due to inner ear problems as well as neck issues. While compromised blood circulation can cause dizziness, it is not a common cause. The underlying cause needs to be correctly diagnosed and treated.

Visual symptoms are quite common in vestibular disorders. Comprehensive vestibular assessment and treatment will help diagnose and treat the visual symptoms.

The Epley manoeuvre will work only if the underlying cause is BPPV of the posterior canal (canalithiasis variant) and if the procedure is performed correctly. Correct diagnosis is crucial in treating the condition.
